I filmed Siri speaking to its Android equivalent (Speaktoit Assistant) and I think it made for an amusing video.

It was tricky trying to keep the two devices 'listening' at the appropriate time. The Android phone is the ATT Galaxy SII.

That was retarded, how is one phone supposed to answer those responses.

What I'd like to see is the same questions asked to both phones at the same time and what answers they each give, and what they actually do.

The purpose of this video was to attempt to have the two programs to converse with one another. I'll do a more direct comparison a little later.

I understand what you were trying to do, but if you ask siri to put an appointment into your calendar, and she came back with "I have scheduled lunch with John Smith on Friday at noon for you" what is Android supposed to say?

"thanks, I guess you don't need me to input it since you already did"?

But I would like to see how they actually function side by side. That would prove the power of the system.

    I don't have a 4S or an Android.

That's just it, I had no idea how they would respond until I performed this experiment. However, you are right, the programs don't communicate well with each other, and now we know.

Quick preview of the upcoming comparison video:
Question: How did Martin Luther King die?
Siri: (speaks)"Would you like to search the web for 'How did Martin....'"
Android: (speaks) "Martin Luther King died in National Civil Right Museum....."

Siri handles conversational dialogue, understanding that your current question may build off previous questions. Android doesn't, although as shown above, it often returns usable answers more rapidly.

Interesting, since she repeats the question I see how that can work.

Of course ..... then you would no longer be needed.
