Watch sync priority (vs car)

Good morning,
I was wondering if any of you would have any insight into the following scenario:
My iPhone is currently paired with my car, and all calls are routed through the car whenever I am in it. If I were to sync the Apple Watch, would the car system still intercept the calls? Or would they be routed otherwise?
