If you're in the US...you can do online streaming with Hulu.com any most any of the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc) as well as some cable channels via something like Comcast's Fancast.

As for using the computer as a TV Tuner...something like EyeTV would be a start: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/hybrid/product1.en.html

Edit: Beaten by dukebound85 to the EyeTV Hybrid by a matter of seconds!! lol...

i have the same problem. are there any websites that let you watch live tv? I don't want to pay $200, TV is not worth that much to me.

    I love the silicondust hdhomerun.

If you want to just watch TV without becoming a nerd, it's great.

If you want to become a crazy, fiddling, tweaking, customizing nerd, you can.

It has great tuners, a company with a great support & development staff, and is a wonderful product.
