I've updated to WatchOS 10.1 and now my AW Series 5 will not connect to my iPhone. It shows connected to WiFi even though my phone is 6 inches away. Force restart of Apple Watch and restart of iPhone. Still no luck.

iPhone settings show it is connected to the Apple Watch in Bluetooth settings, but pinging the phone from the control center of the watch results in "phone not connected" message. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I saw something similar on my S5… it seems like it just takes more time to establish the connection than on my newer models. It always connected in the end

Failing that it eventually auto connects….. Try turning OFF Bluetooth on both the iPhone and the Watch. Switch OFF both devices, restart first the iPhone, turn ON Bluetooth, restart Watch, turn ON Bluetooth.

Thank you it eventually connected after a couple more restarts. Very weird behavior. But resolved at the moment.
