Someone please explain to me the logic behind this. I don't have a cable subscription, I can watch all the episodes of a show except the latest one on my iPhone, but if I try to use the built in ABC app in my Apple tv it requires me to have cable for those same episodes. Here is the kicker, I can stream the episodes from my iPhone to my tv through my Apple tv. Why not let me use the Apple tv app directly?

Contracts with the cable providers.

Should be changing within a couple years, though.

Thank you for answering. That maybe the reason, but there is no logic 🙂 I mean, I can still watch the episodes, they just make it more inconvenient. From their end it makes absolutely no difference. They are still streaming to me, I am still watching the commercials, its just that I have to go through some extra steps even though there is an app right there on the ATV staring at me.
