For months now, in my watched threads tab at the top between New Posts and Your Content, there is a red circle with a 2. I've tried marking all threads as read, deleting watched threads, but nothing seems to make the notification go away.

I have a small list of threads in there and none of them are bold. The number will go up to 3,4,5 etc if there actually is a new post in a thread i'm watching, and it will go down once i click on it in there.

Is this issue happening for anyone else? Is there something I'm missing?

Do you have a filter set on your Watched Threads view? I recall that confusing some people because the filter prevents some watched threads where you have unreads from showing. If you've got a filter set, trying turning it off temporarily and clearing any unreads that then show up.

I've checked and doubled checked and there are no filters that I see active. I even tried clicking and turning filters on then back off, to no avail. I'm wondering if it was a notification from a thread that had been deleted before i had a chance too look at it?

I decided to attach some pics to see if this is anything anyone else is experiencing or if anyone can tell from them what is going on.

I don't think I've ever gotten a red number by watched? What happens if you click the little dropdown arrow and choose Watched Forums instead?

Oh...well, I guess I do get the red badge after all! But I see that it's specifically for threads also.

Have you tried clearing your cache? Trying a different browser? It would seem that it's an issue specifically to MR, but might be worth trying to clear cache.

Also, you can have pages of watched threads. Have you checked back a couple of pages for older threads that might be unread?

Posts of (and from) chrome. I've tried opening every thread to no avail. I didn't try cache on safari, but i don't use chrome often and if i do it's not to go to macrumors so I would think the applications had separate caches.
