    Hello, just bought 2 new iMacs 21.5 inch/ATI Radeon HD 4670
    and now I would like to know if it's possible to watch Blu-Rays
    using e.g. WinDVD 2010 under Windows 7/Parallels 5.0 or VMWare Fusion 3?
    I would like to avoid Boot Camp.
    Anyone already tried this...? Thanks!!

    vmware fusion is far superior.

    dunno if it will actually work though. these programs are emulations, they don't have direct access to your video card. that's why you generally cant video game in them

    That's a matter of opinion, I use Parallels 5 and love it, they claim to be up to 22% faster than the competitor on the site.

    I don't think you could do it without going into Boot Camp if at all, check the details for Parallels 5 or Fusion 3 and see if they say they support playing BluRay movies.

    You'll probably have to have a lot of ram dedicated to the Virtual Machine... maybe both cores too at least...

    Parallels provides better 3D acceleration support... maybe it'll run better there vs Fusion.

    I should work under bootcamp. It does not work under Fusion 3.0.
