I hope I'm doing something wrong. I bought a TV series on iTunes. It shows up in my TV App "Watch Next" but when I click on it, it takes me to purchase page of the episode!

If I go to "Library" I can go to the same purchased show and watch episodes from there... but it's a terrible interface. You have to side-scroll, and it always starts at SE01E01.

It seems the Watch Now section is in sync with what episode I'm on, but it can't seem to figure out I already bought the show.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

The TV app up next only links to what’s actually available to buy or what’s available via a subscription service so I’m guessing what you actually bought isn’t available for sale anymore and has been relisted which is why it’s giving you the buy option.
I’ve got the same with the Constantine series which is no longer available in the UK, upon watching an episode the up next takes me to Prime video.
And also Game of Thrones as I originally purchased the 1-5 boxset which has since been replaced by further sets.

Here's what I'm talking about. Issue is with "The Middle." As you can see, there's no Play option even though it's an Apple-purchased series in my Library.

ohhhhhh,
I thought you were on appleTV, and I was talking about the play button on the remote.

you're on the Mac, sorry not sure about that, you can report it to apple though.

It’s the same behavior on AppleTV. I just recorded it on Mac because it’s easier to do.

have you tried pressing the actual physical play button on the remote instead of clicking the touch pad?
Sadly, there's no way to replicate that on the Mac,

also at about 20 seconds, there is a play button in the bottom left, but you don't click it.

I don't have much iTunes content, but the couple things I have, if I click the touch pad, it goes to the info page, if I hit play it starts playing the show.

if that doesn't work, perhaps there's something wrong with that show, which none of us are going to be able to fix, you'll have to get Apple involved.

I have the same issue with a different show. It’s a problem with tvOS; not with the show.

Good catch - the Play button 20 seconds in is from the Library view however. The issue is most certainly with the TV.app not recognizing some Apple-purchased shows as playbale content in the "Watch Now" feature, but they show up like they should work. 😞 This is certainly a bug, of which I reported in the link you provided @waw74 - thanks for that.

Same thing happened to me with Downton Abbey, but only when I got to the 5th season.
