In our country, the same company as our ISP owns television broadcoasting licenses. They made an iOS app for their customers who have both an internet and television subscription from them. This app lets us watch television wherever we are, if we are logged in inside the app with our internet account details, and are connected to a wifi or hotspot from them. I really don't have a clue how that iOS app checks on what kind of wifi your iDevice is, but it manages to check it! This means that when we are on a wifi from another ISP or a public hotspot, we aren't able to stream television. Watching over 3G is blocked too. I was wondering if there would be any solution to 'mask' the sort of wifi my iPhone is running on. And no this is not illegal, as I have both my internet and television from them. I just want to be able to watch television when I'm not at home or at one of their hotspots. Any solutions, or mission impossible?
