Watching TV on an iMac?

What do I need to buy to use my iMac as a TV? I'll have basic cable (70 channels) in my dorm this fall, presumably from a coaxial cable.. Can I even use my iMac as a TV?

Elgato is the most well-known brand, but there are others. AlchemyTV comes to mind as well as ForMac.
