They need to have car awareness and highly customizable behaviours for when you're in the car.

- if your car microphone is better when you're in the car, use that

- enable Siri audio when you're in the car

- use the iPhone's bluetooth function (handoffs from the watch) - as the iPhone's likely plugged in (conserves watch battery).

Also need to easily be able to customize behaviours for bluetooth headsets. (and the potential to do hand-off of the device between watch and iPhone - we should be able to customize this).

If you're in a car, won't the car just go off the iPhone?!

As for Bluetooth going from watch to the phone, I'd like that, but I suspect that Bluetooth will not be compatible with that idea. A limitation on Bluetooth, rather than the device.

Obviously this will include new hardware as well, but FaceTime would be awesome! I think this is something we will see on v2 or v3 for sure.

simple respondes to email...Just like thanks got it or see you then - similar to messages
bugs
dark blue on the clock faces
personal photo on watch background like instead of the jellyfish swimming can't I have a picture of family etc.
someway to fix when driving so the screen doesn't always turn on
strong haptic feedback/louder chirps
ability to adjust how long the screen stays on when lifting your wrist

those are just from about 24 hours of use...i'm sure more to come!

Unfortunately, I don't believe a software update will be able to fix the haptic feedback. The limitation is in the watch itself.

It's actually not. If you set "prominent haptic" to on, it's quite prominent, but only for certain alert types. So they could add levels to the regular haptic that would be more powerful (or just longer).

----------

The ability to record voice memos.

WHY isn't there a Reminders app!?!?!? Why??? I want to check stuff off on my wrist!! They have a stock app for it on the iPhone, why do I have to download a third-party app for something that makes 10000x more sense than a Photos app on my wrist?!?

Oh, and I want a tick-tocking second hand still. Give us the option!!

Really, all these suggestions so far have been great and I agree with just about all of them. No outlandish requests, all genuinely good ideas for new features!

!

This.

Also, I want a watch face complication for battery power that looks like a dial or something a little more attractive than a digital readout.

Fix whatever is causing some of my texts to be sent from my phone number and some of them from my iCloud account causing multiple threads for those I text.

Stronger haptic feedback for sure.

Lot's of good ideas in this thread. Someone needs to invite Tim Cook to the conversation.

A lot of people said signing out and back in on iMessage sorts that out. You then just need to delete the thread using the email address.

I would love to see a SIM card eventually. Not sure how that would work with mirroring aspects of alerts from phone. A stand alone device would be nice and would probably use my phone even less.

15. Official Apple Podcast app

<shudder> Downcast on the Watch, please.

Apple's official podcast app doesn't do authenticated (e.g., paid-subscription) podcasts. Neither does Overcast, disappointingly, as it's a very pretty app.

Meanwhile Downcast rules. Just a fantastic app. I hope a Watch companion-app is in the works for it, as it's just wonderful.

For me it's:

  • More activities in the workout app (YOGA!)
  • Reminders app
  • 8.3 emoji update
  • Phone reception complication

Overall, I already love this thing. I had a Pebble before and this is such a step up it's insane... Also, being able to go on a run with nothing but my watch and bluetooth headphones and being able to glance at my wrist to see elapsed time, distance, pace, and heart rate (!!) is insane to me. I can't get over how much technology they were able to pack into such a small device.
