Anyone having this issue? Since the 10.1 update, the now playing screen *almost* never shows album art.

Yes having the same problem since the 10.1 update. Tried clearing the Apple Music app cache and restarting the Apple Watch but made no difference.

I'm having the same issue. What I've found out is that it's most songs that you bought through iTunes but if you have a song that you got from somewhere else that you synced to your phone it still has album art on the watch. I have one or two albums bought through iTunes that still have their artwork but the rest do not. I'm not sure if it's affecting those who stream through Apple Music.

I thought there was a pattern at first but I haven’t been able to reproduce consistently.

My library is a mix of purchased / matched content and uploaded songs that don’t exist in iTunes. I also stream Apple Music tracks that are not in my library.

Some show art, some do not.

I've got a few playlists that are just iTunes songs along with some that are mixed and I noticed that the ones that weren't bought through iTunes still have album art.

I think it's a bug from the music update on iOS 17.1 that changed how some of the album art looks and it's just not syncing the album art to the watch.

I had the same problem, my albums were all uploaded from my Mac, but their cover quality was very high and the resolution was 3000x3000. After updating to 10.1, these album covers can hardly be displayed, or load very slowly, requiring you to wait for more than ten minutes. In addition, I found that even after waiting for more than ten minutes to load the cover, the cover display was very pixelated, as if... downloading the 3000x3000 cover directly and then scaling it linearly?

Hi everyone, I may have found a solution or workaround to this problem. But will need your help testing to see if it is stable.
I found that if I play music directly from the iPhone, Apple Watch will display the album cover art. But if I play music through my Air Pods Pro 2, no album cover art is displayed. So I did the following:

1. Disconnect Air Pods Pro 2 from Bluetooth.
2. Turn off Bluetooth.
3. Restart the iPhone.
4. Turn Bluetooth back on.
5. Pair Air Pods Pro 2.
6. Play some music, check to see if the cover art is displayed on Apple Watch.
7. Listen to music through Air Pods Pro 2.

I've taken out the Air Pods Pro 2 for about an hour, then reinserted, played some music and album cover art is still displayed on the Apple Watch.

Look forward to reading your replies and results.

I think the xx.1.1 updates may have fixed this issue. Album art seems to be displaying on the watch just fine today.

It looks like watchOS 10.2 fixed the issue for me. I'm not sure if others are working now.
