In WatchOS 10 the function of the side button has changed from opening the Dock (OS 9 and earlier) to opening Control Center. Which is more useful to you for the side button?

I’m wondering if a Shortcut could be made for the Action Button (AW Ultra) that would emulate the old Dock button.
I posted the question over at the /shortcuts subreddit. Hopefully someone that’s much better than me will give it a shot.

I never use the dock, and like swiping up for the control center. So if the swiping up for control center has to go away, I guess the next best option is to have the side button bring up control center. But my preference would be for things to stay the way they are. Unless the widgets are very useful. How are they? I haven't read the beta thread, so I don't know much about the widgets.

Swiping up now opens widgets which can also be done with the digital crown.
I’ve gotten used to swiping so prefer it.
Seems like another change for the sake of change thing…
And I have absolutely no love for widgets…

Maybe their idea is to replace docked apps with widgets. So far non of the apps I use have released a widget

For those of you with an Ultra running 10 and miss the dock, A shortcut can fairly mimc the dock using the Action button. This is what I'll be doing. Before I was using the action button for the flashlight. Now the flashlight is docked with 4 other apps in the shortcut.

Apple could just put in a simple switch in the Settings to let users choose what function that the side button performs.

Oh wait, this is Apple. Lol.
