Probably fake. When I ask my watch the same thing, it prompts me to search for info using my phone. Makes no mention of a date. And yes, I'm running watchOS 2 already but still. Phone and watch just come up with Google searches.

That seems to be fake, if you ask in eithr english or spanish siri will point you to apple.com

I would expect apple to QC the os2 thoroughly after fixing the current bug...

Considering a team of 15 programmers or so working 24/7 having their angry partners at home... I would bet for next wednesday

I would love it to be released today but I don't think apple rolls out major new upgrades on the weekend - I could be wrong.

Plus its the timing, i.e., I think they want to make sure the first upgrade to the watch is rock solid, which means putting it through some serious testing.

I hope today is the day but i don't have a good feeling too :(They had so much time from June and many of us were waiting a long time for this...

Not that it means anything but I am getting the same results as the one in the second link. So it isn't fake:

I tried it once and got 19 September. Why would I fake this again? (Talking about the screenshot of course)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean your screenshot was fake. I meant to say 'no way Apple would say when they're releasing their new OS'. Especially not considering Siri gives different answers each time you ask.
True. Here's hoping they release it before the end of the month.

I've worked for a few software companies, and currently work for one now. None of them has EVER wanted to release new software on a weekend. That's just asking for disaster.

So many unrequited heartrate animations being sent out of Cupertino right now.

Doubtful... in fact, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see them release another GM candidate for developers first.

This. Unless the software team is convinced that they have such a deep understanding of the bug that they can test the fix internally, I'd expect them to at least do a limited developer release. In any case, I can't imagine Apple letting the update during the weekend.

Mine also states that it is up to date with watchOS 1.0.1

I wonder if this update is being made available by geographic area or per device- kind of like TIVO does when it rolls out a limited, priority updates?

OR, maybe we have some practical jokers on our hands!

You might have a point here. Interestingly enough, my co works has a 66 phone and we both have old 4s phones from our employer. Wednesday early afternoon pacific time my iOS9 was ready for both phones so I started the process. She kept checking her and it was not showing. It was not till she got home several hours leter that hers finally came up on both phones.
