I posted a thread about my issue earlier and didn't get many responses so I went ahead and returned my watch for a new one. My first watch I immediately installed OS 2 before I even used it. It worked great through out the day until I asked siri to call my wife. Siri said "Sharon cannot be found in contacts" WTH!! I then told Siri to call Peter....same result. I told Siri to text Sharon.....same result. I called Apple support and we couldn't figure out the issue after spending 1.5 hours on the phone. I posted a thread yesterday and one person said theirs works fine. So I went to the Apple store and swapped it out for a new one.
My new watch I tested before updating the software to OS 2. It worked great! Siri was able to call and text my contacts no problem. So I thought maybe I just had a lemon watch. Last night before going to sleep I initiated the update process for OS 2. I woke up this morning and tested Siri......I am back to square one. Siri now cannot find my contacts and I can't call or text using Siri. I am very disappointed to say the least because Siri is a very convenient feature for the watch.
I've chalked this up to be a software bug since it happened on two brand new watches on OS 2. I am using the new iPhone 6s+ updated with the latest software as well. Siri on my phone works fine. With my first watch I tried every possible solution with Apple support with no success. In the end the specialist said they will send a direct report of this to Apple engineers.
What do you guys think I should do? Should I wait for another software release to see if it is fixed? If I wait the software update probably won't come before the end of my 14 day return period. Should I return it and get another one that's still on the older software? For me Siri is a must have feature for the watch to make texts messages and phone calls.
