Starting with watchOS 26, the Notes app is available on the Apple Watch.

With the Notes app on the Apple Watch, you can finally view your notes right on your wrist. You can also create new notes with Siri, or by using the on-screen keyboard, and they will sync to your iPhone, iPad, and Mac via iCloud.

Other available functions in the Notes app on the Apple Watch include pinning notes, unlocking notes, and completing checklist items.

This is a smaller yet very useful change coming with watchOS 26, which is now available in beta. The update will be released to all users later this year for the Apple Watch Series 6 and newer, Apple Watch SE 2, and all Apple Watch Ultra models.

I don't use notes, but wow, I can't believe it took them this long to add it! Reminders has been on there forever.

Android Watches have had it for awhile. You can even surf the web with Samsung Watches

Is that supposed to be a good thing?

Back when I was a Pebble user, I had a watch notes app that I used all the time for my job. When I moved over to the Apple Watch, I believe that developer made a version for the AW too. Over time, that app sort of fell through the cracks and today is very buggy and unusable.

I’ve since been using the Reminders app to keep things in sync between my Watch and iPhone. So I’m kind of glad to finally have the native Notes app to use instead. I don’t use Watch notes as much as I used to, but it’ll help me a lot with work especially.

How was this not already a thing? Oh well, better now then never. Still holding my breath for WhatsApp watch app!
Right? I mean, I feel like it's one those things that should been there from the get go, but hey, better late than never

Part of me would love to see a FB Messenger app back on the watch too, but apparently it sounds like that won't ever happen again due to Meta somehow thinking that that's not important and instead turning their focus to their AI and all
