I'm already amazed by the indoor run tracking. My gym has a track where 15 laps = 1 mile, and the watch, during a five mile run, is within half a lap. That's really good for a 75 lap run. And I'm always amazed I survive that many laps (when the gym forgets to flip the daily direction I let them know about it!).
New machines like that are pretty nice. We've gotten some in the past few years. Then again, we still have a few that let you plug in the original iPod. 🤣When on a treadmill mine was consistently 150m short of every KM the treadmill reported, I was so happy when the gym had a refit and bought machines where you can tap your Apple Watch to sync. Might give this new improved tracking a try tomorrow.
Wait, this isn't supported already? I guess its not necessary when the battery life is so short, but that seems like a 5th gen feature not a 12th gen feature.Automatic sleep tracking? 🤞🏼
because he didn't finish yet
I switched a few years ago and its been immense to improve my running. You can do everything I do with my Forerunner that you do with an apple watch, but you're looking at needing different apps and charging it constantly. I miss certain app features, but maybe we'll get those once Apple is forced to open it up here like they did in the EU. My wife still enjoys her Apple watch.I have a Garmin Fenix 8. With Glance watch face I get live HR, Altitude, a watch face that’s actually usable and my series 10 is sat in a drawer.
Why?
- battery life
- watch faces are awful (and that’s being polite - see my photos showing my s10
Vs F8)
- no 24/7 HR
- no live HR on the watch face
I don’t care about anything AI. I want to run, I start a run, I want to cycle - I cycle. I don’t need something to tell me I am running well, or keep
Up the good up the good work.
The Garmin is much better for everything. Except:
- voice assistant is worst than SIRI (but I never used it anyway)
- alarms triggered on the iPhone do
Not go to the watch
Anyone else switched AW to Garmin?View attachment 2636523

It’s only currently “automatic” if you go to bed and wake up at the exact times set in your sleep focus. It already has that feature.
Ahaha, so you can. Wish I realized this sooner 😀You can basically tap anywhere on the screen now. That was fixed a few versions back.
Can’t they just remove those tiny buttons, literally when you are running you don’t have time to press them
Yes, it was much easier to tap the workout in order to start it, than to hit that dumbass tiny play button.
Good to know this, although i still run 😊 a tap-the-workout version. Looking at this OS 27 screen, I wonder: Since when does the “playback”connotation “start” extend beyond the context of audio and video to a context of physical activities? My first reaction was why are there two buttons for music playback? And how was i supposed to intuitively know that “basically tap anywhere” accomplishes the same as the right-pointing black triangle? That button should not only take up at least half of the face to make it easier to tap but also to reinforce the association of “begin” and type of workout. Inside a much bigger black triangle set in a green circle, there would be enough space to embed the green runner figure. Oh well, intuitive user interface design is no longer an Apple strength. You can basically tap anywhere on the screen now. That was fixed a few versions back.
The run workout button is indeed small. 😊Nice to see all these small health and watch related updates.
Exactly. When they first implemented it, you had to tap on it in order to start a workout, which made the interface so not user friendly 🙂Good to know this, although i still run 😊 a tap-the-workout version. To end on a positive note:
The Play button is not Big but Beautifully opaque.
