WatchOS 3 - "Unable to check for update"

Somehow I can't seem to download the WatchOS 3 developer beta from the Watch app. When I check for updates I get the message that it is unable to check for update and that I am not connected to the internet.

I have installed the profile on my Watch app and I am connected and my watch is on charge.

Any advice?
 
Had this issue as well. Restart your phone, should work after. And yes, you are forced to restart after installing the profile, but you have to restart it again after that.
 
Thanks I will try that. Another question - must the profile be installed on the phone or on the watch? The question comes up when I select the profile to install.

On your Watch. You can delete it from your phone if you installed it there.
 
I have tried restarting the phone as well as the watch but I still get the error. I even reset the watch, unpaired it and paired it again, to no avail.
 
Came to my mind that this error message ("Not connected to internet") could be mistakenly shown. The download servers were having some issues when I downloaded the upgrade as it took so long time to download it. The upgrade was about half gigs but it took about hour and a half to download. Should have taken more like 10-20 mins. So that error message might just mean that the server isn't responding or something.

I've been getting that error, have tried about 4 times now. The download completes (after around an hour) then it says that it can't verify the download because I am not connected to the internet (but I am on wifi.) I'm trying to delete profiles and restart everything to see if that works.
