After having multiple issues in trying to upgrade my software from Beta 1 to Beta 2/3, i've had enough and have decided to send it in to Apple for them to downgrade the software. Every time i try to upgrade the beta, all i get is could not connect to Apple watch. I've seen other people who have had the same issues but after a while, i thought it isn't worth the hassle. Im hoping that i can still use my watch on OS3 whilst my phone is still on iOS 11. I am praying that apple decides to release a much better Apple watch with a lot more improvements, preferably a tweaked design as well, if not then ill probably just upgrade to series 2.

Has anyone else had the same issues and thought f**k it, let me just send it in to Apple?

I have exactly the same problems. But I do not send them down to downgrade. Before, she is just in the drawer. I have already written, for me the worst Apple product

PS:
Now!
After one hundred messages with "can not connect to apple watch" .. I renamed the Watch in the app from "Apple Watch from XY" to "Watch" and the update was found directly at the first time.

Downloads now.
Let's see if it works this time.

Well that doesn't work for me so god knows what to do

Yeah! Installation is running!

Do you still get the message that the watch is not connected? Did you have turned off bluetooth (AirPlane Mode) and tuned back on after Renamed the Watch ?

After I renamed the Watch I get the message that the search for updates failed, than I searched it with the 4G Connection and it found it.

Correction, you sir deserve an award! Thanks to your info, I HAVE FINALLY managed to get it working!! Thank you

Renamed the watch but it wasn't coming up on the bluetooth section, just continued to change until it worked

I can confirm that i’ve never had any issues upgrading WatchOS 4 beta’s. I use custom names for both of my watches.

Mine was set to Abu's Watch which is what it started with when i first got them, same with AirPods. Didn't think that having a preset name would affect things. Currently have an appointment on monday to downgrade the software so i have 3 days with the watch to see how it is

If I’m not mistaken. Thats the default name. Since i have multiple watches. I defined each of the with an SB and SS designation in addition to the current name.

I do get could not connect errors. But that is usually fixed by unlocking or wearing the watch until the process starts.

Yeah that was the default name, i haven't had this issue before though even with the default name. The install is taking a while though. Says 5 minutes remaining and it has been like that for 10 minutes or so

Hm…seems not to have helped for me. Changed name, turned on airplane mode on both devices, checked that name was indeed changed but still “cannot connect to Apple Watch”.

Yesterday Installed. Watch simply renamed again. Battery life again better than with Beta 3.

(Wait until also in Settings> Bluetooth the new name is displayed)
