This looks fun, but my Watch is on a permanent silent mode (why have it doing annoying sounds if I can just feel the taps on my wrist), so it seems like I’m out of luck? Sounds stupid, that’s what DND is for.
Thanks for the tip. I have a Series 0 so I don't have that, but we will be getting the Series 4 this autumn so I will try it then! How do you even activate water lock on the newer devices? Control center? You and your wife, when dealing with little kids could turn on Water Lock. That will make it so any input on the screen will not work so the little ones she takes care of at work will not be able to activate anything on her watch, and also your son will not be able to activate anything on your watch, though holding down the side button will still activate SOS.
I use it when I am watching my cousins twins, who love to crawl all over me and also have a fascination with my Apple Watch, kind of like your son and I am sure like the kids your wife takes care of at Daycare.
I know it is not the official use case for Water Lock but it is a pretty simple work around to make any input to the screen not register on your Apple Watch. Hope this helped you in some way. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes, good luck!

FaceTime can be audio only. As can be other V(oice)oIP services. Why? That wouldn’t make any sense. The screen is too small and the person you’re talking to would be looking up your nose. Unless you hold it in front of your face, but that would be awkward and your wrist would quickly get tired.
A Walkie-Talkie is in a sense a phone call (often a group call) that is muted by default and only becomes unmuted while you press a button. Why not just phone the person....![]()

If you don't mind carrying around another (by today's standards) large device with you, sure. Two Apple Watches.... $658.
Two Walkie Talkies.......$29.
It looks as if Apple is still trying out features to find the killer Apps. But I think they had it already. Health.
Why cant they make a health band without Apps support.
Thanks! Hopefully they don't spin the crown. I think they're typically preoccupied with the colors on the display but if those don't work they might go after the crown. Not sure how well that would work for my wife keeping that on all day though as it kinda defeats the purpose of having the watch. My son doesn't always go after the watch so it will be great to activate when he gets an itch to play with it. The S0 life is rough in 2018. I got a low battery warning at 8pm last night and I hadn't even done an exercise and even had a late start not putting it on until 8am. I'm thinking about getting a spare charger for work but I'll probably just slog through until September. I haven't looked forward to upgrading an Apple device this much since going from my buggy, huge iPhone 6 Plus to the smaller, less buggy with more RAM iPhone 6s.Yep, Control Center. Just swipe up from the bottom and hit the icon that looks like a water drop. Then to get out of Water Lock, you just turn the Digital Crown a few times and you will hear the noise that blows the water out of the speaker after swimming and that is it.
Hope it works for you when you get your new Apple Watches!
