Considering the new AirPods come out tomorrow I think they will release 6.1 today to get everyone’s watches ready ahead of tomorrow’s Release. It wouldn’t make sense for them to release 6.1 tomorrow which is the day when the new AirPods comes out as some folks might not have enough time to upgrade and therefore have issues with their new AirPods pro etc

The User Guide for 6.1 is already available for download on Apple's Book store, so I fully expect to see it released within the next 12-36 hours.

It needs to come soon considering the new emojis in iOS 13.2 do not show up on the Apple Watch with the current Watch OS.

Good point, it must come out today then. I was very surprised it didn’t come out along with iOS 13.2 yesterday.

Downloading now :)

Thank God. Hopefully this adds a little more battery life to the S5 model, fixes the issue where the screen does not light up when tapped/digital crown is turned in Theater Mode...

My S5 was getting about the same battery life on 6.0.1 as my S4 was getting on 5.whatever. So if 6.1 improves that I'll be in even better shape.

Theater mode - seldom use it but seems fine on 6.1 A tap brings the display on. So does pushing in the crown. Rotating the crown does the gradual brightening as usual too.

Been on 6.1 betas for a while - downloading this to the watch as we speak. Annoyingly, my watch is on 41% atm as I took it off the charger at 2am when I let the dogs out for a pee, so it is on charge and hopefully the install will start soon.....

4 hours indicated ended up taking just under an hour and watch is done. It's burning hot so thinking it's still working in the background and hope everything works well. Right off the top, so far every time I tap the screen it wakes right up vs. a pretty bad lag before. If that's all they fixed I'm happy as I was getting good battery life with 6.0.1.

update completed and watch has cooled down. So far less than 2% in an hour and a half so about where it was before. The biggest improvement is the screen responsiveness. This is my first AW and thought they were kind of laggy but with the update all screens move perfectly. Huge improvement.

updated no issues here. watchOS 6 has really improved battery life for my S4, for the first 8-9 months I would typically get 2 days, then in the past 3-4 months it dropped to 50% or less by the end of the day so I charged every night. The past few weeks I've been able to go 2 days again for about half the time so hoping that 6.1 brings further improvement and lets me get back to 2 days of use.
And I've not had any change in usage ...

Gym hour today, hr monitor seemed much more responsive and more consistent. Previously dropped out often during weight work but hung in today showing more rapid spIkes and drops. Also musIc never stopped using cellular the whole time showing a stronger signal. Even took a call during workout over the air pods and it sounded great. Battery life seems the same as 6.0.1 which was fine for my use usually 30-40% at 18 hours standby. And as mentioned earlier, the screen is perfectly responsive. Really happy with the watch now.

Being reported as yes, it does work. Scroll towards the bottom

Excellent! Will update tonight.
