I was getting good life on 6.2.6, but now it’s draining... Anyone else?

How long has it been since the update? Usual advice is to give it 24-48 hours to settle down before getting concerned.

Also, have you rebooted it at least once since the update completed? If not, do that.

Also try rebooting the phone.

Watch drained from full charge to 10% in 11 hours after upgrading to 6.2.8 with normal use.

I have noticed that update turned on backround noise measurement, even that is disabled in watch settings. So I don’t know how to disabled it again.
I can see noise measurement in health app and in autosleep app but in watch settings it is disabled. It started after update

Hello mcvaughan,

Make sure Background App Refresh is toggled Off on your Watch:

Watch Settings > General > Background App Refresh (toggle left to Off)

I have found that this setting defaults to On with software updates.

(I just leave this off; alternatively you can select individual Apps to refresh.)

Hope this helps.
Best,
KM

I haven't fully drained my Apple Watch since I got it a few days ago. But it does last longer than my 40mm S5 non LTE, couldn't last a whole work day with that thing.

Well, it was fine for a day or so, but now it’s not lasting a day. Maybe I should try unpairing and re-pair?

I too have noticed a slight decrease in battery life by the end of the day. Before the update, I was getting anywhere from 15 - 17 hours. I am now getting anywhere from 13 - 14 hours. Not a huge deal since I usually switch to the series 3 at 8pm anyway, to start gearing down for sleep in 2 hrs.

Lately I wake up and find the watch dead or in low power mode (which I don't believe allows AutoSleep's sleep tracking).

About 10 days ago, battery life tanked. Went for a 34 minute walk at about 70%, went into power reserve mode before I got home. The next morning during my walk it went into power reserve mode after 4.03 miles (less than an hour).

Normally, my 6.3 mile walk with cellular on, listening to wireless earbuds, and taking about an hour and twenty minutes would take me down to 55-58% and I’d recharge while getting ready. The watch would last the rest of the day, including an evening 2.5 mile walk.

Now, I have to go into airplane mode to get it to last for my morning walk. Updated to 6.2.8 over a week ago. Restarted. Repaired. Don’t know what to think other than the battery has a problem or something really bad happened to the cellular around here. The former seems more likely.

Any ideas short of a trip to the Apple store?

My watch drains much much faster since this latest software update. I used to end the night about 30% on average, sometimes 20% sometimes 40% if memory serves me... I know for sure that I *never* received the low battery warning.

Since the update, my watch dies around dinner time daily. I usually do 1 30min-1hr workout each day and none of my daily habits have changed.

I have unpaired & re-paired but that's all the troubleshooting I've done so far... Definitely seems like a bad update to me... I'm afraid we might just have to wait for an update to resolve the issue but with the new OSes on the horizon, I'm not sure if there will be any further updates to watchOS 6.

My personal belief is that there's some sort of bug with the 6.2.8 update.

Same. I just noticed my battery drain quickly. My watch was fully charged at 8am, it’s now 1:21pm and I had only 25% battery. Previous versions I had no issues

Same experience as everyone else - I have never turned off app refresh before and not planning to. Can’t get through half a day before it dies. Tried to erase everything but my cellular plan with no change in addition to removing a few apps to see if they were the issue.

Used to be able to go for at least 20 hours before it would run out of battery now I can’t go a third of that since 6.2.8.
There are posts all over about this but nothing from Apple - also in an interesting turn of events, a new watch will be released in two months.....

Try setting up as new and see if that helps. If so, you should see an improvement in 3 or so days afterward. You can do that without deleting you cell plan.
