Maybe I’m just crazy or misremembering things, but my Series 4 seems far too dim while in Theater mode watchOS 6. I remember it being of equal brightness on or off with watchOS 5. Am I wrong?

I’ve noticed this for the last week or so. I just toggled this mode back off and then back on again though...and now it’s back to normal. Very strange.

It’s intentional, to not blind you while in theater.

Right, that’s what I’ve thought as well. It seems to be very inconsistent. Last night it was nearly too dark to see even in a completely dark room, then later it was back to its normal brightness...all while theater mode was enabled. Seems strange. Right now the brightness doesn’t change at all when toggling it, but other days it is so dark I can barely tell if it’s even on. (I often use theater mode at work)

That does NOT work for me.
Right, for me all that does is scroll a menu or through the various Siri watch face elements. Rotating the Digital Crown doesn’t adjust the brightness unless I select the brightness setting itself first. Then...when I’m experiencing this issue...max brightness is very dim. Toggling Theater Mode on/off a few times restores it. It’s been working correctly all day today, but wasn’t yesterday.

Rotating the crown for brightness in theater mode (and anytime the watch display is off) only works on Series 2 and later watches.
