Also surely this needs to have the noise detection on thus draining battery too?

Dear Apple - a few more Watch-app ideas:

1. Teeth / Brush your teeth for 2 minutes 3 times a day app.
(App tracks time and correct circular motions. Rewards/medals galore a la the fitness app for doing a good job).

2. Pee / Remember to pee before leaving your house.
(App detects location and pops up a reminder. After auto-detecting sounds from urination, the hand-washing app starts automagically).

3. Swear / Swear Box app.
(App detects any swear word you say and automagically donates a cent to a charity of you own choice (pre-selected by Apple of couse). Privacy guaranteed.

I'm shocked no one mentions how much germs are on the watch and strap itself. Take off the watch, and wash your wrists, at least.

I tend to wash my watch along with my hands.

Otherwise there's no point, if you just wash your hands carefully and then put your dirty watch back on you'll contaminate yourself right away again.

But really, eradicating 'germs' in general is not the goal here. It's only about the Coronavirus. Once that's gone I will certainly go back to normal and not care so much how long I wash my hands for. Of course I'll still wash them :) But 20 seconds is LONG. We can't stay on high alert for the rest of our lives, and the way we were before was fine. I haven't had any sick time in 5 years.

I just installed the PB beta on my series 5. I turned on handwashing under settings. I also turned on the handwashing reminder but it toggles off on its own. I am not getting any error message when it toggles off.

Anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Why is everyone surprised? Apple has been trying to purify us since the first iPhone! Anyone remember Duck as an expletive (replacing a certain, rather, coloful metaphor) or Hell being changed to He'll and so on? Autocorrect!

Then there's the breathe app (which thankfully can be deleted, albeit it's for stress relief, not literally teaching you how to breathe)

Then the closing of your rings. Now this. Does anyone wonder if the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is involved with the whole social conditioning stuff?

Either way, It's a pass for me. I'm not going to turn into some OCD-induced germaphobe. Next thing we'll get an app telling us not to kiss or have sex. After all more germs are passed doing those two things than washing your hands less. But I suppose that will end up controlling our population like they all want (and we've already gotten used to dating via Skype/Xoom/Facetime, right?)

Obviously there's more to Covid than a virus. Something is rotten in denmark! But that's for another forum/thread.

I really wish I could have the hand washing feature on my series 3. Really disappointed that we don’t get it. Seems like they would make it for all the users that get watchOS 7 but I guess not

Just wash your hands for 20 seconds. You don’t need a watch to tell you how to do it.
