I was considering doing the public beta for my series 5 or 4, but now that I know they still aren’t allowing for a downgrade method, I may not. I’m surprised that they are still not making it possible, since they’re releasing a public watchOS beta. I don’t know if they can’t or if they are just highly confident in the software.

I’m fairly certain you can set up an appointment to get it downgraded if you need to. You’ll have to send it off for a few days, but it can be done.

Seeing as there's no way for people to connect an Apple Watch to your Mac, how would we downgrade it, without having to send it off to Apple, like the Devs have to do?

There’s a rumor floating around that Apple is working on a OTA reset option possibly for such a situation.

Wish the PB would come out. I would think it would be soon?
I think it will be mid August. The beta, from what I have read, is still suffering from respirings and reboots, amongst other problems. Seeing how you have to send in the watch to get downgraded, should a problem arise, I am guessing Apple is waiting until the beta is a little more stable for the average joe and Jill six pack.

Haven't had any such issues with mine thankfully.

Yea, think I have been lucky, as I took a punt on it with the latest DB and a week and half it, with no issues. Seen others having many issues though.

Earliest will be with DB4 next week.

If mid aug is the case for the PB then might as well wait until the proper release a few weeks later

Well, Release would likely be first/second week of September, but some people think that might be delayed, due to the possisblilty the phone is delayed.

I would hazard a guess that PB will come next week, with DB4. I think the same for PB of Big Sur too.

Sending your watch back to Apple is fairly easy. You call them, they overnight you a box, and a few days later it’s back. I did it about 3 years ago when a beta install bricked my watch.
