Ever since I updated to WatchOS 7 (and 7.01) ... the Health app is recording virtually every hour as ‘Stand’ - even when I’m wearing the watch in bed and I’m asleep!

I‘ve read about the other issues following the recent updates - including a number of watch restarts every day (which I have) ... but I haven’t seen anyone mention the issue I’m having with ‘Stand’.

Anyone else?

Just thought I'd nudge this one as I didn't get any replies last year!

I now have AW6 but the same is happening. It is currently 9.37 in the UK and my AW is telling me I have stood for 8 hours already!! I was in bed before midnight - and I got up once in the night to use the toilet ... before getting up just before 7am. This just doesn't make sense! I don't sleep that well (although Health/Sleep tells me I sleep more hours than I do) ... and I guess I'm a bit of a restless sleeper. Could it just be movement of tossing and turning in bed that adds another hour? Although if I'm sat watching TV and it get's to 10 mins to the hour and I've not stood and I get the stand notification, I have to walk around for a good minute or so for it to register!!

It's just a bit odd!!

Hi Heavysoul,

I have noticed a standing issue after updating to 7.5 on my Series 4. Although my issue is not giving me free stand hours, it seems like I had a stand hour glitch.

When you go into your Fitness app and Activity page per day, are the stand hours being shown in the chart? and if you have a longest streak award, is it being awarded with your free stand issue?

My issue:
After checking activity summary, which I haven't done for a while, I noticed that my longest streak award stopped being collected, which was odd as I close my rings every day without fail. It stopped being awarded on the 2nd June.
  • Looking through the month view all rings and green dots were completed.
  • Looking at the activity summary in Fitness per day however, from the 2nd until the 23rd stand hours were tracked with the stand hours ranging from 16 to 18hrs, The ring is shown as full, but all the Blue bars on the chart are missing so its just blank, not even idle hours are shown. So the rings and the chart don't match.
  • Looking at stand hours in Health, also shows it blank but when you look at the Activity summary in health it shows the blue bars as per the stand hours ring.
I am going to try and add in the stand hours Manually (will try for a couple of days) to see if that will add any blue bars, hoping that it will register in the chart.

I might also try and change the date to see what happens when I go back to the 2nd June.

Thanks for your reply OxCxDx ...

That's an odd problem you have there. I had my problem on my old AW4 going back well over a year and it's the same on my AW6.

Re going into my Fitness app and Activity page per day etc ... it's all good there. My only issue is getting credited for stand hours when I know I've been in bed.

I can only assume the AW is being very sensitive to my restless sleep. It's not a huge issue as I do the required stand hours during the day when I'm up anyway. It just seems odd that no one else on here has experienced the same - or at least no one has commented.

Hope you manage to get your issue sorted ?
