And how has the iPhone 17 changed from the original? Still a rectangular slab.
How have laptops changed over 40 years? Still a foldable screen over a keyboard.
And I can go on ...

AW has an iconic look, if you don't like it, you have options.
At this time I would not put a AW in the iconic look at all it’s still available in a similar form, the original AW release could be in the innovative category like the original iPhone , original iPod could definitely become an iconic item and a nostalgic collectible item but unfortunately iPhone and AW have very little nostalgia simply what you see today is not much different to the original Apart from size and software.

Someone who just ditched the need of a smart watch having zero requirement. Owned Apple Watches from from 2016 to 2026 upgrades every 1-2 years but in the last year found myself just wanting a traditional automatic watch that told the time and date so I did and not for one moment I have had the thought or need of a smartwatch, I guess the novelty of a smartwatch just finally came to an end for me . I don’t trash or question those that enjoy the usefulness of a smartwatch but I do think as an item they hold very little nostalgia or sentimental value and definitely would not categorise them has iconic .

This just does what it’s supposed todo without the overhead of charging or becoming unusable due to battery life or software requirements . Obviously it’s prone to damage like any wearable

Let’s hope apple can get back to their origins of innovation

I am very happy with same if it runs fine for me which it does - dont see this obsession for new just for new sake - Get yourself something android if you want to permanently tinker with stuff (I dont) but new for me is almost always over-rated - Remember curved / 3d screens or dolby atmos or Sony getting rid of physical media ? 🙂

AW is totally iconic without doubt and its no novelty for me everyday after my sea swim paying for a coffee and listening to Chicane without my phone.......

Its embarrassing for every other smart watch maker, no EVERY watch maker that this is still the biggest selling watch on the planet 🙂

The Watch is quite amazing as it is. They've worked to make it stable and dependable. They have added a few tweaks here and there. Most likely there are changes and new additions in development. But they're not there yet. We can't conceive the challenges they face with this technology. I still have the SE (2nd Gen), and love it. It does what I need it to do. I look at all the new features I don't have, and realize it's stuff I would not use. But I am keeping an eye out for new stuff I might like. I am due for an upgrade soon. What new features would you like to see? You can make suggestions in the Feedback app. They do look at all feedback. These Watches do a lot already.

I believe new health features will be announced with Series 12 as in Series 10(Sleep apnnea notifications) and Series 11(Hypertensiyon notifications, sleep score).
