Hello,

Is it possible to repair a water damaged keyboard of a 12" Macbook (model number A1534). The keyboard is an problem & not working. But everything else is fine. If its connected to an external keyboard it works fine.

Does anyone know how much is apple genius bar replacement cost ? Also suggest me alternate ways to get it replaced for a cheaper price ?

Thanks in advance,

Of corse it's possible. But as a cost as Apple has to change the lower case.
Not sure about the price, but the MBP keyboard is an expensive $750 repair.

So sometimes it's cheaper to sell it as broken and buy a refurbished unit.

It is possible, but unless you have had a investigation done, in the (near) future other parts might stop working. Water damage tends to show it's destructive powers over time.
Regarding the replacement of the mac 12 inch keyboard, I can have it fixed in The Netherlands for just under 500 dollars at a reputable place. My guess is you can find a similiar price over there at a professional outfit.
But I would be very tempted to have a company do a check on your Mac to see what hidden damage might have been done.
If you don't want to go through all of this hassle, indeed, flog it and get yourself another machine.

Good luck.
