Sometime during the night last night someone had my macbook, and ended up setting it in water or some sort of spilled drink? I'm assuming it didn't get turned off right away, and probably shut itself off as when I woke up it was just sitting there turned off. I'm going to wait to turn it on, but is there any hope? I took the battery out, and the area where the battery sits had plenty of water in it, as well as the whole bottom of the mac.

Yikes, the water inside is definitely not a good sign.

Dry it off as much as you can, then dry it again. Then, let it air dry for as long as possible -- a couple of days for sure. DO NOT turn it on until you're certain it's dry inside.

Good luck!

The way you describe it (water inside the actual battery compartment), I would keep it turned off for a week and then pray.

Sorry to hear, :( but I was wondering if by turning it upside down to take the battery out, if you didn't spread the water farther into it. Definitely leave it sit for a week or better.

Good luck.
