Well an early Father's Day gift arrived a few days ago. In the picture below the Air Caddy is backed up with the Bolt Briefcase, and Tech Folio Plus :) I should mention my copy is in their canvas, but their are leather version that look very dressy.

Let me just say that I have owned and used the Bolt for several years. It has held up for many, many trips. I think all of this company's goods will stand the test of time. Their stuff is very well constructed and have heavy duty materials (not to mention great customer service). No their stuff is not inexpensive, but I like to hang on to things that work well, and don't let me down while traveling.

So, the Air Caddy had it's first day trip yesterday for the Mustang's oil change and drive-through coffee. The iPad Pro 12.9" w/MK fit nicely in the yellow lined, multi-pocket interior.

I also unloaded my cargo cargo pants pockets. The Air Caddy easily accommodated:

1. Wallet (yes also a Waterfield)
2. Key Ring
3. iPhone 11
4. Eyeglass Case
5. Zeiss eyeglass/camer lens cleaner packets
6. Small bottle of hand sanitizer
7. Benchmade Osborne folding knife
8. Wireless BT Jabra earbuds in a small zipper Topo - zippered case.

I could have easily fit in my Kindle reader. But for short trips day trips, I'd probably just use my iPad or iPhone as a book reader. Plus with all the stuff the Air Caddy starts to get a bit heavy if you going to be walking around a lot. Which brings me to this.

I wish it had a small shoulder strap. I'm not sure is the design could accommodate one as the zipper runs from top all the way down to one side. I know the Air Caddy is actually designed to go into one of their larger travel bags, so a shoulder strap was probably not added to the design. One of my iPad sleeves has a horizontal strap ( hand grip for want of a better description) on the back stabilized the case for carry. The one is a Vaja. Talk about expensive ;)

I suppose my Tech Folio Plus would suffice, as it has a strap. But, that is a bit larger as you can see from the picture of my three bags.

Great write up. I too have had great experience with Waterfield and am currently contemplating the same set up as you (12.9/magic keyboard) with WF Caddy. I am looking to use it as a “home” for iPad along with a handful of other items that will make it easy for an on the go grab or transport between meetings and office (assuming we ever return to in office work). For commutes/true travel I would be throwing this into my larger canvas messenger.

All that said, now that you’ve been living with this for a while, what are your thoughts on it??

PS: I am also considering the Angus from Pack & Smooch - have had great experience with their products as well.

All the best!

Well with the Pandemic raging I haven't been out much, so my use has been limited. But, I still find the Caddy very useful to carry all my EDC (wallet, iPhone, BT earbuds, and of course a small folding knife ;) The Caddy is low profile enough that I don't think it draws a lot of attention. That is a good thing IMHO. I still wish it has a detachable strap for no hands carry, and lessen the likelihood of me walking away from the bag.

Let me know what you think should you jump on it, or what you think of your alternative!
