Apple has been implementing wireless charging and waterproof designs in many of its mobile products.

Is the MacBook next?

Unlikely.

The next Apple device to get wireless charging would likely be the iPad.

Also, wireless charging needs to be fairly efficient and convenient. Not sure if current wireless charging technologies are able to transmit enough current affordably at the same rate as a wired charger.

The key word here is "affordably." I'm not paying $250 for a wireless MacBook charger when I can buy a wired charger for $30-50 that'll probably charge my notebook computer faster anyhow.

As for water resistance, I don't really see the point for the notebook computers. It's not like you're jogging in the rain with one of these things. If it's raining and you're transporting a MacBook, it's likely in a bag, not in your hand.

I'm sure water resistance could be implemented but the cost wouldn't benefit most users.

I doubt it.
The benefits of wireless charging and waterproofing don't really solve any immediate issues on laptops. The effort put into implementing it won't be realized by most people.

Even. But not likely. Wireless needs an opening in the metal case. A redesign happens earliest after 4years. What makes it 2019

Waterproofing the keyboard would not be an unhappy change for me. I usually end up replacing the keyboard due to a spill on every other MacBook I buy. It's a pain in the ass and a major bite in the wallet.
