wats the best stable OS for iPhone4?

can someone please tell me which the best stable iOs for the iPhone4. Should I jus stay with iOs5? This is my first Apple product.

thanks!! but in order to enjoy it i first need to figure out how to jailbreak it..lol its been a pain in the ass
