Hi folks,

I decided to release my calculator that was talked about in the other thread.
Before anyone else says it, yes there are lots of calculators, but it was made anyway so what the hey.

I fleshed it out with some extra features, so it's not just a basic calculator.

Here's the AppStore description and some screens:

Waum is a calculator, converter and tip calculator designed from the ground up for the Apple Watch that makes any quick calculation simple and efficient.

Features:

Two layouts for the calculator. A single screen calculator for quickness and a split screen mode for bigger buttons.

Easy to use tip calculator. Set a minimum and maximum tip percentage, you only need to do this once and Waum will work out the in-betweens.
Then any time you want a quick split, just enter your bill value, how many paying people there are and rate the service out of 5 stars for a full breakdown.

Convert multiple units of speed, weight, volume, temperature, area and more with complete simplicity and ease of use.

And there’s a simple calculator and tip calculator on iPhone as well, didn't want just an empty screen on there.

And as usual, here are some codes for my fellow MacRumors'rs.

Oh and yes, it is a daft name. When I made it just for me it was called Watch Sum. Didn't like that for the released version so I squished the two words together:D

Thank you for making it and for the code. This is going to be useful :) Is it possible to have a 12.5% tip, which is the amount that "service included" bills tend to add on in the UK?

Sorry to be a pain, there's always one, isn't there!

Brilliant on the Watch too.

If you set the minimum tip at 8% and the maximum at 26% then a 2 star rating would be 12% which is about as close as you'll get just now.

I could change it in the next update. At the moment it's set to round to the nearest whole number but I could put a couple of decimals in there.

Thanks so much for your reply. I set it up like that and that's good enough. I had a good play with the conversion part too, excellent! Well done and good luck :D

Thanks for this. One of the codes worked for me.

----------

How does one switch between modes? I'm on split screen and cannot figure out how to go back to selection.

----------

I figured out have to touch top part where totals are. Also you mixed up the 5 and 6 On single screen.

Ooops, thanks for pointing that out, expect bug fix soon. As usual I'll blame my medication, bloody morphine, makes it hard to concentrate at times :D

I'm not sure what you mean about modes. On split screen swipe left and right to get between the numbers and functions and with anything your using be it either of the calculators, tip calc or conversions touch the very top of the screen to get back to the main menu.

The exceptions being, for example, in the conversion you would touch the top left of the screen (or of course you could swipe the screen from left to right) to move back through the menus and once you are at the main selection menu for the converters you can touch the top of the screen to get back to the menu. Hope that makes sense, my afternoon medication has kicked in and it gets hard to be coherent and not just waffle on, like I'm doing now dammit

It's version 1.0, I'll use the same excuse as everyone else and say there are kinks to work out :D

I appreciate the feedback though, I'll try to make the next release more intuitive.

Looks very nice, thank you. All codes are used already, though.

Well now we can't have that can we. My afternoon meds have kicked in and put me in a generous mood :D so heres a big pile of codes for y'all.

Ok, I've started on the first update to Waum. Likely just a quick fixer upper for things like the numbers in the wrong place. What idiot did that, ahem :D

Anyway, if there is anything anyone would like to see in the next update, now would be the time to shout at me.

Wee update,

I've modified how the calculator works when in split screen mode. It's now working as I originally intended, which is the same way the single screen calculator works.

By which I mean, your calculations can be done consecutively, rather than having to press the = button at the end of each calculation.

Thanks for the additional codes! I used 7NK9W3Y994EL

Going to swap out CalcBot for this and see how I like it.

One suggestion for an enhancement to the tip calculator is to have the tip amount displayed. Now it just shows bill cost, % tip, and total. I know real estate is at a premium, but maybe you could display the tip amount beside the % tip.

Sounds like a good idea to me and certainly doable, so consider that included for the next update.
Cheers.

Just buy it. I did. I have one question. How do you clear the sum you have just done?

Hi,

On the single screen calculator, force touch to get the clear and delete last digit buttons. On the split screen they are beside the function buttons (C and D) on the screen to the right.

And thanks for buying the app.

Yin of my wee updates on whats happening..

The 1.0.1 bug fix update has now been submitted to Apple. But me being me, I just had to add something new as well. The update has the following changes, fixes and additions.

Fixed the layout of the buttons (what idiot missed that, ahem) as pointed out by Peepo, cheers for that.

Tweaked the interface a little to make using the Apple Watch app more consistent.

Thanks to a suggestion by NewScotland the tip calculator now shows the tip amount as well as the percentage. Cheers for that suggestion.

*NEW* Added a new currency converter to the conversion tools. You can now get live, up to date, conversions between 156 currencies.

*NEW* Added a user guide to help with some of the less obvious features of Waum. You’ll get the option to see it the first time you use the app after the update. Or you can see it anytime from the main menu.

Ok the 1.0.1 update has been waiting on its review with Apple for just over a week now, so it probably won't be long until it's released.

As I've still got some codes left for the 1.0 version I thought I'd share them with my fellow MacRumorsers, here they are. But they'll need to be used before the update is released, at which point they won't work anymore.
