Way to see what time capsule is backing up?

I'm sorry, but time capsule is poorly designed. There are no control options at all? I hate having it back up every hour. Why can't I set it to back up every day?

Anyway...so my macbook keeps backing up something 250 mb big almost every hour, and I am not changing much at all on my computer. Is there a way to check what it is? Or is it just a mystery?
