I bought a refurbished iMac from Apple a few months ago. It came with a refurbished Magic Keyboard 2 & Magic Mouse 2 (a1644 and a1657). I have opened the box only to look at what was inside. I have not removed the wax paper or whatever it is wrapped in. I was tempted to nab the charging cord, but I restrained myself. The mouse is still sealed within the white cloth wrapper.

I would prefer a keyboard with a numerical keypad. I currently use an Apple Pro Keyboard that is at least 10 years old. It works fine, but I would like one that is a little quieter and a little cleaner.

Is there any way to trade this refurbished combo for a different keyboard? Should I just sell it on eBay and then buy a keyboard?

I'd agree with the eBay route. You can try to offer the trade in the Marketplace forum here....but most people think the Magic Mouse is an ergonomic nightmare and don't want it.

Thank you for responding. I did not know that there is a Marketplace Forum. Can you point me in that direction? I cannot find it.

Thanks,

If you go to Forums/Mac Community it's under there.

Unfortunately, here's why you can't find it (from the Marketplace Forum rules):

"The Marketplace forum is visible only to qualified forum members (at least 250 posts and at least 180 days of membership), with the hopes that you will have had a chance to "get to know" other members you might make a deal with. These requirements do not guarantee successful transactions, and MacRumors can take no responsibility for deals made between members. We have provided a good environment but you must use appropriate caution and common sense whenever you deal with other people over the Internet."

I see you only have 25 posts.
