    Hi,

I recently got an iphone and love it. This is also my first ipod, but I've used several other mp3 players over the years. I'm used to being able to retrieve fill details(id3 tag info, bitrates, file size, etc), but can't seem to find a way to get this from the iphone. I know I can see all this in itunes which is fine, but sometimes I'd like to see more about a song/file. Can this be done? I can't even find any indication that this question has been asked before.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

This cannot be done on iPhone, you can, however, view your iPhone's hard drive statistics in the Settings under General>About. In that window, you will be able to see the amount of songs, videos, photos, the capacity of the hard drive, the amount of hard drive space available and other information about your iPhone.

Wow. This seems like such a simple thing to include. Maybe I'm the exception in that I find having this info available to me while I'm listening useful. Thanks for the reply.

why would you need to see an individual music file size on the go? also, do you not keep itunes set on an import bitrate for the aac's? they should all be the same, itunes purchases are all the same (now upgraded too)

That really seems like a no brainer feature that is missing. My friend and I were talking about a song the other day and he pulled it up on his iPhone and we were trying to figure out how to view the extended file info to know what year the album the song was on was released. I'm really surprised that info isn't available.
