And to settle it, Time Machine isn't just for System Restoration. It's for file backups as well. Lose a file? Your entire iPhoto Library? No, you didn't, because Time MAchine has it there for you. Does Windows System Restore do any of this? No, absolutely not. So, windows can SUCK IT. :D

Don't forget though, that Apple dramatically improved the quality of alt-tab both graphically and for the end user.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is on my Windows machine at work to be able to alt-tab forward through my applications, but then not be able to alt-~ my way back once I blow past the one I'm looking for -- which is easy to do because of the poor graphical representation of the application icon.

Similarly, I find it frustrating on my work pc when I alt-tab and then try and use the mouse to move to the correct app. On my mac at home, I have Cmd-tab mapped to the middle button of my mighty mouse, so I can click once and then mouse to the application I need.

This is made worse by the fact the on Windows, every single app, document, whatever gets its own icon in the list. If I have a few emails open, a couple of word docs, spreadsheets etc, it rapidly becomes unwieldy.

So yes - Apple probably did copy this feature, but its usability is far superior.

1) Time Machine - Extended version of Window's System Restore since XP. I don't know why everyone bashes it, every time I used System Restore it always worked for me.
Whilst this may be the case, I would use conparison very loosely, time machine seems more like a combination or norton ghost and an advanced backup system. system restore for me has never really worked.

2) Update iChat - Ok this has definitely been apart of Windows Netmeeting. I always used to conference and share Desktop to work on my families computers around the world.

okay I agree with you on this one, but I felt as if it needed to be added! but all the other cool stuff is good, lets not even go into microsofts whiteboard:p !

3) Parental Control - Probably a given now adays, but Windows Vista looks like it definitely has more innvoativation and control behind this one. As I can tell from the betas.

that may be the case, we can't say Apple has copied microsoft because we don;t know what Apple has done.

4) Spaces - Almost every version of Linux/Unix has the four different desktops switching.

I wouldn't class spaces as 4 different desktops, I would say that they've extended the desktop and so when you go to a different space you go to another area of the same desktop.

5) Widgets - OK i know old topic, but when the VP said "Gadgets aren't the same thing as widgets", to make a joke that Vista copied OSX, I was just thinking how they took the idea from Konfabulator.
True, but gadgets is such a lame name! I hope apple allows you to put a widget onto the desktop, i.e. it would be nice to see what the weather is when I turn the computer on!
