I have a WD it is 500 gigs and i use it connected via USb every now and then to my extreme and it works just fine. I have a smaller one they is 160 gig attached permanently and it works great. When i get home it backs it up my stuff and when it gets full it erases old files. I love it makes it so much easier than having to remember to back it up your self.

WD all the way.

Coincidence this thread popped up.

I have a WD Elements 1TB right now (bought it for $115 on Amazon; watch out for cheaper on slickdeals.net).

I've had it since around March, and it is perfect. I originally thought there wasn't a power adapter, but it does indeed have one.

Still, it's amazing. I love it.

PS - It has 931 GB, not exactly 1TB. Just to let you know. I haven't even filled in 1/4 of it yet.

😀
