WD My Passport "turbo drivers"

Just got the 2TB WD My Passport and it's working fine, but I wanted to configure the sleep (the light keeps blinking even when my MacBook goes to sleep). The utility to configure the sleep is here:

But there is also a link there for "TURBO Drivers". Has anyone tried installing these? I don't want to screw anything up.

I generally would recommend to stay away from stuff like this, since it can often introduce unstable behaviour or compatibility issues in the future.

I know that is a relative old thread.... But I've only discovered this WD Turbo driver very recently. I've had my WD Passport for some years now, so I thought I'd just give it a go.

It's definitely not a OMG or "whole-world-of-a-difference" kind of experience, but definitely shows some speed improvements in the benchmarks! I'm happy leaving the drivers installed!

BTW, these are USB2.0 on a 2011MBA.

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to say that it caused problems with a My Passport Ultra Metal Edition and OS X El Capitan. Also, it changes the icon.
