WD My Passport vs Mac Version Question

What's the difference between the 2 versions besides one being "Mac ready"? I know the Windows one can be formatted for the Mac, so wouldn't it essentially be the Mac version then? I'm asking because I can get the Windows version for cheaper.

No - they are exactly the same. Buy the windows on and reformat for Mac...that's what I did. The only slight difference may be whatever software comes pre installed on the drive (for backups or whatever)...but I never use them, and you could always download from the WD site. HTH.
