WD MyBook vs Seagate FreeAgent - which is better? which to get?

Probably just to save energy- how long does it take until it goes into standby mode?

After sitting for a couple of minutes unused it goes into standby, it only takes a few seconds to come out of it but had I known it did this before I bought it I would've gone with a different brand. It's annoying enough to live with, not so annoying that I wanted to take it back.

so for the people who currently own the mybook - have you had to return to drive failure or anything like that?

or has the only complaint been the auto shutdown?
