WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock
2118.png

Looks good, provides 87W charging via TB3 to my MBP 16" (2019), comes with a pre-installed NVMe SSD, has all the ports that I need (and none that I don't).

The dock is said to be compatible with macOS, but I don't think WD tested it properly. I've found two annoying issues that occur very often after I reconnect my MBP to the dock, such as the dock's SSD not showing up again (not even in Disk Utility) until I reboot the computer. I've described the issues in my blog and I will update the post if I hear anything useful from WD support.

If you have experience with this device, or you have questions, please reply to this thread.

Thanks for posting this. I have been looking into one of these. I think I'd rather have the Seagate dock... the 4GB HD and room for an NVME SSD seems more ideal to me, even if it doesn't charge.

In that one place
Reading reviews on Amazon of other Hub/Disk combos, sleep and ejecting are huge issues.
You may have to resort like I do with my Mini and never turn it off. Its a shame Apple has such crappy implantation of Thunderbolt 3.

Yes, they all seem crappy in one way or another. A bug-free TB3 dock is yet to arrive.

That said, WD D50 doesn't exhibit or cause any sleep issues.
