I find it crazy that everyone here is saying it's the parents responsibility...... YES IT IS!!!!!! BUT THERE IS NOTHING PARENTS CAN ****ING DO BECAUSE THERE IS NO OPTION TO LIMIT IT!!!!

FOR **** SAKE!

Yeah, it's a lost cause.

Kids can cross a street without looking both ways! THERE'S NOTHING PARENTS CAN DO!

Suspicious vans are parked outside school playgrounds. THERE'S NO OPTION TO LIMIT KIDS FROM APPROACHING THEM!

I disagree with you. I'm not a parent but if I had a child, I think that the right thing would be to educate him about the dangers of listening to music at high volumes. My parents told me that when I was young and I've been careful about increasing the volume of my headphones since then.

While I think that it's a good thing to be able to have a restriction in the settings, I also think that the government and companies deciding that for you is a bad thing. It gives people a false hint of security as you will stop thinking about possible dangers by yourself and assume that nothing can harm you. However, we don't live in a perfect world and I'm sure the government can't set limits to everything. Have you ever driven a car while being tired? Too bad the government can't restrict you from doing that and thousands of people die every year because of it.

My point is that I think you should let your children think for themselves. You just have to teach them to do the right thing.

Edit: I hope we won't have more of these posts in the future: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/08/18/apple-says-not-liable-for-distracted-driving/

No. No, it's nothing like that and what's more you are deflecting responsibility. Responsibility is all you need and it's all your child needs. Without that your kid will very likely choose to override the control anyway. Are you going to spend your life demanding that everyone protect your child - difficult task for you. Why not just teach kid to be responsible.

Good news, with IOS 11 it’s enabling be limit on my AirPods at least... I’ll check my other made for IOS headphones, but it means it’s possible.
