I have a thread moved because of PRSI. Problem is, since there is nowhere to put it, it was moved out to the otherworld... But I am not complaining about that specifically, I was aware of the risks when I wrote it, the moderator have followed the forum rules. This rules are subjective, there is no scape, he had to make a decision and I am not complaining about that either. The only political threads are the one created by the forum administrators - as I understood, there is no PRSI space for us in whole forum "the issues are often controversial or sources of discord, and can easily interfere with discussions on other topics, especially in news threads". If I understood wrong, please enlighten me.

But as old participant of forums since the beginning of times, and old guy already, I feel myself in the duty of making a suggestion to the community. This is not an Apple's forum, and it has "rumors" in the name, so I assume this is a place to discuss. The forum administration will guide and moderate the discussion as any forum, but we must stop a bit to evaluate how is it working today for the health of the forum with a model that has been like this since the beginning of the Internet? I think we cannot just carry on not considering what have happened in our societies lately and the threats to the Internet community as whole.

I obviously have participated of numerous forums and had to moderate too. I don't think this kind of policy of PRSI subject exclusion is working anymore. Most of people is able to discuss, they understand policies, want and need the discussion - the societies need the discussions - or our democracies and our freedom will end by the lack of that does it work in the first place (I don't like this kind of expression but we might become a big China). The heaters, deniers, engaged in non-democratic ideologies are not the average people. They just make a lot of noise, use bots and spend the day fighting in forums, got nothing else to do... they are must be targeted by moderators and policies, not the subjects itself - mostly.

Particularly, we should discuss politics that affects us, our way of life with our macs and devices - as global warming, economics, war, etc., or the forum will become alienated from reality (literally) and won't work as "forum", specially for rumors.

There used to be a political forum for users, but it has been closed to new members, as it has been the point of contention. I don't see that changing to be more open.

It requires too much moderation and no one ends up being happy about it. That's unfortunate, since the forum has been open to most discussions in the past.
