If when we checked out, it SAID that the 30 pin to Thunder adapter was included with the iPhone 5, we should be given one for free!

Is it NOT false advertising that Apple is CHANGING the contents of the product we purchased, after they swiped our card and processed our order?

I think we could get Apple to honor this movement if we get enough support.

Thoughts?

I've not ordered through apple but yeh I think all orders up to the time the writing was taken off should get as advertised, but hey it's up to what apple do end of the day

Whats a 30-pin to Thunder adapter?? :confused::confused:

I agree that they should have included an adapter, or at least a subsidized one if you were upgrading....

If im not mistaken they don't charge you until the device ships, if you feel you where cheated then you still have 1-2 days to cancel your order :D

i'm sure the TOS says something about online price/info mistakes. no one owes u anything

I have altered the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further ...

You can only stretch the TOS copout so far. What if they changed it to not include the earbuds or the power adapter? People were CLEARLY misled by the description. There was no ambiguity about it. If any other company pulled something like this people would not be so forgiving.

Nothing is free. Nothing.

You got that right. People forgot this is a business and companies are here to make revenue, they're not here to give out freebies to people

I'm probably one of the few who don't care about the new charger. It's already nine years old, that's very old technology and it was bound to change. And if you afford a $199 smartphone with a $100 monthly bill...you can afford a $30 adapter. Though if you charge it once a night you only need one charger :)

Companies legally have the right to change it. It's not false advertising, because they never advertised it. Their advertised contents states it doesn't include an adapter.

They can't change that, as their advertised contents show that it is included.

This is their advertised contents under "In the Box"

http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

iPhone 4S
Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
Dock Connector to USB Cable
USB Power Adapter

Actually I was led to believe that it was included as per the specific writing. I was even going to order one until I read the thing.

The law only covers blatant errors in pricing, but I don't think it extends to what appears to be false representation of the inclusion of that item.

This is false advertisment, if there was a description for an adapter an adapter should be given, it's really cut and dry no grey area. I suggest we pin this thread and create awareness and we all bother Apple unti we are either credited 29 dollars or have the option to add an adapter before release separate from the phone order for free.

Thunder Adapter? Does that plug into my Thunderbolt Port on my mac?:p

No you shouldn't. Technology changes, things get left behind. Think about all the people who bought Windows Phone 7 devices, none of them will get Windows Phone 8.

It's time dock connector was changed, there's no point changing it then providing everyone with adapters, that defeats the point of changing them to start with.

They stated it was a mistake, just like if you were at the store and an item was mislabled as the wrong price. the store isn't legally bound to give you the price if they state it was a mistake.

They can be nice and give people the adapter anyway, but they are not legally bound to.
