I don't have any left but a $3000 PC (dual G5's etc...a couple of years ago) should have a long support cycle imo.

wasnt PPC (G5?) the first desktop mainstream chipp to have 64bit extensions? its kind of a shame to see them be a waste

According to Apple, this is by design. When SL first came out they talked about how it wasn't s necessary update (though at $30 they hoped most people would). There isn't a lot that SL can do that Leopard can't do when it comes to the end-user experience.

I'm hoping we'll see support for a bit longer.

Though there are a few SL features that are a must for me, like being able to disable a few gestures (pinch, 4 finger swipe L/R, ect), as they really annoyed me. Plus the minimizing into application feature is amazing as well.
