I am glad I am where I am in life and my friends will have to accept me no matter what I wear. I remember some of the social “pressure” long ago and glad it is something behind me. If I do not please in a Polo, jeans and tennis shoes, I do not go there. Ruth Chris is still glad to seat me and my friends no matter what band I am wearing on my Apple Watch.

I'm not sure if something similar has been posted, but I just want to gather everyone's thoughts on this subject.

To start off, I love watches. I have several different kinds, from casual to dressy, and both expensive name brands and not so expensive. I usually coordinate my watches to my jewelry and my outfits (I am woman by the way).

Now I have two events coming up that I have to dress up for. A formal wedding and a communion party. I will be wearing a cocktail dress for the wedding and for the communion a really nice dress. I feel for men, the apple watch would be kind of no different looking when you are dressed up, but for a woman?

Should I wear my apple watch. My SS CB Will be here hopefully this week and the band is no issue to me, I already have a dress watch with a similar buckle and band, but more of the watch itself. Will it look out of place with my dress clothes?

Of course I know I can wear what I want, I'm just asking fashion wise, what everyone thinks, and if any of you have worn yours to a dressy affair.

I wore my SS with a black sport band last night to a dinner party with a General, two lords and a Knight of the British Empire whilst wearing a midnight blue velvet dinner jacket. Nobody seemed to give a damn.

I had breakfast with General Mills, and no one noticed my watch because everyone was looking at Captain Crunch's silly hat.

[edit] true story.

I actually have a Bolova. The battery died years ago, and I wore out the leather band. I've never bothered getting either fixed.

I'll wear my Apple watch any damn place I want. Someone doesn't like it? They can suck wind.

I will, however, try to be on the dressier side going to an event.

Define dressed up. I’m pretty sure I can no longer relate to this foreign concept.
I haven’t worn a pair of long pants outside of work now for about four years. Our work uniform incorporated long pants. Now that I’m retired I don’t anticipate ever wearing long pants again, although I do worry that an occasion will arrive where I will have to suck it up. Sure hope I can still fit into one of my suits. It would kill me to have to buy one only to wear it once. S

I was at a formal event last night - black tie, tux, the works. I have a sport watch with white sport band. I used this watch face:

I thought it looked quite nice, especially with white shirt/black jacket. In fact, I call this watch face "très élégant". :D
I am a huge fan of the Simple face for occasions just like that - Numerals is another great one that makes it a lot easier to read the time but still on an elegant face - it’s one of my most common faces for at night when I want to “unplug” and just use the watch for notifications.

I think the band is more important than the face. I wouldn’t wear a colored sport band but the black sport band looks dressy enough. Also fine with any kind of metal band, or some leathers will look dressy and just fine. The only time I’d personally side eye someone was with a brightly colored sport band or sport loop.

A nice leather strap or the Apple Classic buckle I think would do. Apple watches are so common in our society now that I think its more acceptable then you're making it out to be.
