Since the last update of both iOS (16.2) and iPadOS (16.2), I've noticed an unexpected behaviour in the weather app. Namely: when I open the app, whether from the app icon or from the widget, the app shows the second city on my list, not the first one as it should be.

Important to notice here is that I don't have location services activated for the weather app because I don't want to. I am one of those guys. I don't want any service to know where I am, unless absolutely necessary.

Has anyone noticed this issue?

The widget and the app have separate settings for location to show. You’ve probably got them set differently.

No, I don't think that's the problem. The widget allows you to select ONE location. The app allows you to add many locations, arranged in a certain order. The one location in my widget is also manually set up as the first location in the app. So whenever I open the app, I should get that location, but instead, the app shows the second location on my list, so I have to swipe left every time to get to the location I want (unless I left the app open in the background with the desired location).

Whatever was causing this issue, the update to iOS/iPadOS 16.3 has solved it. Considering the lack of reactions, I guess no one cared or noticed. Or maybe most people don't use the Weather app as I do. Most people will likely have location services enabled for the Weather app, so it shows the weather for whatever city they are in. I have location services disabled and have my own list of the cities I most often visit. I then manually move the city I'm in to the top of the list, so that's the city the app shows when opened.

I have a same problem on my iPhone iOS 16.2. So, new update is fixed this issue?
