My weather app keeps crashing.

I open it and try and delete Cupertino and boom the app crashes.

Anyone else?

I just tried it and had no issue. Deleted Cupertino and Boston, just to be sure. It was fine. Added them back again, fine.
Can it be a corrupt Apple ID? I’m at the Apple Store right now swapping the phone and I’m afraid if I put the same Apple ID on this phone it will happen again.

Can apple ids get corrupted ?

Unless I’m doing it too quickly after phone activated and it’s building software.

Honestly, that’s what I attribute a lot of glotchss from in the first day or two.

A friend had trouble with the Podcasts app that fully resolved within 12 hours. The phone is doing so many things at once, and we (understandably) want to try everything at the same time.

Yep happens to mine. Weather app works great but can’t delete those locations.

apple senior advisor asks that everyone call in an report it so they can forward to engineering

Me too! I don’t think it will last though.

It's weird because it went away for me but then when I went to hit "Add" again, I didn't even have to add it back, the other two were deleted.

I also experienced it and I jumped onto the beta but haven’t tried adding a location to try delete it again. I’m not experiencing it on 16.1 beta 1 and the other two locations disappeared after I uodated to it.

Got a new phone, made a new Apple ID and the weather bug went away!

Lasted two days. Now the weathe bug is back.

Can’t delete cities. Driving me bonkers.

Anyone learn of a fix yet?

Yes PIE. sorry. You open the weather app and try and delete cities and it crashes the app.

Worked fine for me. I opened the weather app, clicked on the three bars in the lower right, left swiped on a city, clicked the trash can, and it deleted it. No crashing. I updated to 6.0.2 in the afternoon.

Have you tried shutting down the app from the app manager so it’s no longer running, then rebooting the phone, then opening up the app and trying again?

Done it all my friend. So many people are experiencing this. Just wish there was a way to get in touch with the people that code the iOS and let them see what we see.

AppleCare support only has so many resources.

Just frustrating.

Thank you :)

So weird! Even deleting the app and re-downloading it didn't work?

I don't know if this is still true or if the Weather app fell under this category, but when Apple originally gave users the option to "delete" stock apps, they weren't really deleting them. They were deleting their visibility in the UI. "Reinstalling" stock apps was really just making them visible again, not actually downloading them fresh.

If memory serves, that may have been the case several versions ago maybe? Though the Apple support document indicates that it’s truly deleting the app since iOS 14.

It’s a bug a lot of us are having. We are just deleting cities.

It’s a bug the way to fix it is add a random city and then delete it the ones which keep crashing the app just disappear that’s how I fixed it anyway
