What are you guys using for weather on your watch face? We have several complications available now and I have tried a couple but continue to use the stock weather app. Dark Sky works, shows the temperature like the stock app and shows an umbrella and the word Soon when rain is in the area. WUnderground shows the temperature and current conditions with a small icon above the temperature. Update to temperature seems slower than the stock application.

One thing I have grown to like is the blue color of the temperature complication when using the multicolor option on the modular face. Using the other complications they only show in white. Not sure exactly what I'm looking for to be honest but that's why I'm asking. I'm curious what you guys are doing and like.

I use Dark Sky to send me rain alerts, but I just use the stock weather complication.

I use Carrot now after using Dark Sky and the weather channel. Carrot on the modular face for the center icon has the current weather as Feels Like with high and low and current skies. You can add a second small complication that has the wind direction. I've used both on the modular and added dark sky for actual temp. Played with all actually.

Nothing seems better than carrot and I paid the extra $1.99 for hourly updates. I do like my weather information.

Does Carrot let you report the weather? It seems like a more attractive app than Dark Sky in some ways, but one thing I like about Dark Sky: If it says "Cloudy" and it is actually raining, I can report that it is raining. I don't know how much that helps improve Dark Sky's accuracy (it might just be an empty function to make me feel better!). Ideally my report that it is raining would cause Dark Sky to update the forecast for my area right away, but that doesn't seem to happen.

I live in rainy Pacific NW, but we have had mostly clear skies ever since I got my Apple Watch in July and began using Dark Sky. I'm sure that I will have an opportunity to test its accuracy starting any day now, and lasting for approximately eight months. In the past I have found Yahoo Weather to be pretty good at forecasting our general area, but Dark Sky supposedly gets even more local, and our weather conditions can vary considerably from one part of town or the county to the next. Since I commute a lot by bicycle, I sometimes make decisions about when I should travel between destinations based on the weather.

I do like the fact that Carrot lets you add multiple complications for "Feels Like" and "wind speed." Those are things that vary a lot where I live. If I really want to be my own weather station I guess I can always combine the two apps and have a weather station watch face that has a Dark Sky complication, Carrot Feels Like and Carrot wind speed :D

I forgot about that feature with dark sky as I have tried sending some reports in for accuracy even though we don't know if they even do anything with that info. :)

Carrot just seems to be a little better all around actually. I first had some issues with dark sky as a complication so I tried carrot and it is nice to have a few different complications but not necessary. As more of my favorite apps go native with complications I may have to reconsider.

Live on the edge and have your whole screen as weather indicators. :)

Is there any weather complication that shows the current humidity? I'm trying to make a weather-centric Modular face. Right now I have the date in the top left, stock Weather in the center, Carrot Feels Like in the bottom left, Weather Channel precipitation chance in the bottom middle, and nothing currently in the bottom right. I'd really like for that to be humidity if possible!

I keep reading about Carrot and one thing I really want is feels like temperature complication. I guess it will be the next app I purchase.

Did I read correctly that Carrot will not send rain notices or other notifications without also being installed on a MAC and with the MAC running? If I want to replace Dark Sky's rain prediction notices I need to first purchase the MAC portion of Carrot. Is that correct from your use?

It hasn't rained since I purchased so I don't know but now I will have to keep an eye on it for sure. I did purchase the hourly updates so maybe that is enough? Of course, if dark sky is better, I can have carrot in the center and dark sky in a small complication.

Reading the FAQ is says (read after posting here) that yes, you need to buy the iOS app, the yearly Premium and the MAC application to get rain updates and severe weather updates. Well, I didn't know that first and sort of bummed its not an all in one solution for my other apps without all the parts BUT, like the app very much so far. The today widget is great, the app looks very good and the complication is colorful which is a nice touch compared to other applications and having feels like on the watch face is great. So, current solution is Dark Sky notifications and glance with Carrot on the main watch face and today widget. I will see how this goes.

Thanks for letting me know. I definitely didn't know that but like you, I will just keep dark sky as a small complication.

Weather Underground now has a complication. It has a little conditions icon next to the temp. I've been testing it, Dark Sky and the stock weather complication side by side by side for the last day.

WU doesn't seem to update as frequently as the others -- and tapping on the icon, to launch the app, takes for ever to load. And the complication, glance and app all read different temperatures. Guess they still have some bugs to work out, which is a shame because WU is my favorite general weather app.

Weather Underground used to be my go-to website for weather, so I jumped on the iOS app when they first released it...and then I deleted it. I guess I should have waited for some updates because it was kind of like your description of the watch app: buggy and slow. I'm glad to hear they improved the iOS app, so hopefully that means they will do the same for the watch app (looking at the screenshots in the App store, the iOS version looks totally different from when they first released it). What tempted me most about WU was the promise of hyperlocal weather forecasting, but maybe that works better in some places more than others. I seemed to get more accurate forecasts from the Yahoo weather app.

What attracted me to Dark Sky was the promise of frequent updates to help me decide whether I should bike straight home before the skies open up, or take a more leisurely route. I will get to test its accuracy for roughly the next eight months. A few months into our rainy season (or I guess what we call normal weather when we are not in our shorter sunny season), and I might appreciate the snarky commentary from Carrot Weather.

Yeah the app has gotten a lot better after the Weather Channel bought Weather Underground. They recently added a "hyper local" feature, similar to Dark Sky, to forecast precip down to the minute, for the next 6 hours.

I'm waiting for it to rain down here in Texas so I can test WU and DS against each other. I think it's only rained twice in the 3 months I've had the watch ;-)

I used the Dark Sky complication for a little while (we get rain) and it works but two things I didn't like personaly. When rain was close or it was raining the temperature changed to an umbrella and I could not see the temperature any longer. the other part (picky) was the lack of color compared to the stock reading which is blue. I would do two complications with stock and Dark Sky but didn't want to use the space and they rarely both said the same for temperature. Weather Underground has been on my today widget for quite some time but removed it today and placed Carrot on the list to see how that goes. The watch app is not bad but still a little slow I felt.

What I wanted more is rain notifications and feels like complication when I think I have with a combo of Dark Sky notifications and Carrot complication/app. It will take a little while to know but I have everything setup and will leave it long enough to get a good feel for my current setup.

If you add Dark Sky to the Modular face, in the central complication, you can have far more weather information displayed.
I want to do that but I continue to like calendar in that spot. I almost want two large areas now in addition to the other complications I have.

Anyone know if you can show feels like on the smaller Carrot complication? I know it shows on the large center complication on the modular face but I want to see feels like as the temperature number shown on the smaller version. I wanted the same thing from Dark Sky but no way to do it. Feels like is, to me, more important because its well....what it feels like and its how I need to prepare.

Didn't appear to be an option. All you get is wind direction on my watch for small complications. Someone said the developers were changing this soon to weather so maybe it will be feels like?

Its in the updated app. Open the iPhone app, long press on the "Ocular Sensor" and type toggle wind complication in the box. Open the watch app to sync the setting. Mine shows the real temp and the current condition. Its colored, which is nice, but shows real temp. Its ok, just hoped it would show feels like.

Thank you!

Carrot vs DS- still trying to choose

For the complication especially and for current updates

For cycling, I like to know the wind conditions. Both current and upcoming if possible

What would you recommend ?

Thanks
